Unhappy Rover 25 Misfiring

Hi Guys

I have a rover 25 1.4 16v and it has a problem when i start it up, for the first 5-10 mins it jumps around like crazy, when i accelerate the revs deacrease and there is no power then all of a sudden it will kick into life. once it gets warm it is ok but asoon as i stop in traffic it will start to mess about again.

I have changed the lambada sensor, spark plugs and leads but not the coils

Can anybody help??

You have probably answered your own question. The coils are the most likely culprit.

The best idea is to have a manufacturers service for just over 200. Apparently a lot of problems have been reported with misfiring. The service offers new softeware for your ecu.

Cured mine straight off. it also cured my performance which i had been reported since i bought my mg zr brand new last year.

What plugs did you fit? Genuine ones?

If both failed then you would be running on.............................zero cylinders, so I'm guessing at least one works ok.
